A short note on doing less, on purpose — and why restraint is a design decision, not an absence of one.

A clean takedown looks effortless. There is no wasted movement, no flourish, nothing for show. Everything that happens is load-bearing. The same is true of good writing and good software: the work is in deciding what not to do.

This is a short essay on purpose. It exists to prove the reading layout holds at small length — that a page with three paragraphs still feels composed, not empty.

Restraint is a position. It says: I considered the loud version and chose the quiet one. That choice is the whole craft.
